Applies to both 2000/Newer and 1999/Older vehicles
$10.00

Complete re-inspection of all safety systems, not just failed items (per BAR requirements)
$100.00

That's why we perform a complete inspection on every retest β€” not just a spot-check on the failed items. Read the official BAR VSSI Manual β†’

Smog Retest Policy

Smog retests are $10.00 within 15 business days (applies to both 2000/Newer and 1999/Older vehicles).

Past 15 Business Days

Anything past 15 business days, the customer pays normal price β€” unless an extension has been arranged with the shop beforehand.

Valid Extensions

Valid extensions include but are not limited to:

  1. The vehicle is in the shop for repairs longer than expected.
  2. The customer works Mon–Sat during business hours and cannot make it in (distance / lunch constraints, and no family or friends able to bring the car).
  3. The customer is out of town due to an emergency.

No-Show / Missed Appointment

If no communication was made or intended with the shop and the agreed-upon due date has passed, the customer pays full price for the inspection.

Certificate Fees

The state certificate fee is non-refundable once a vehicle passes and the certificate is issued.

Failed Inspections

A failed inspection is a completed service β€” the inspection fee still applies.

Payment

Payment is due at time of service.
